Iris Blazely is an artist and writer living on the West Coast of Lutruwita. Their work concerns Tasmanian ecology, particularly the margins where disparate species, never meant to meet, coincide. From these in-between spaces of humans, the “natural world”, and invasive species, where colonialism has morphed what once was, arise dream-like narratives. Implementing collage and surrealist themes- flora and fauna are transplanted and transformed, humans interact with animal ghosts and landscape itself is a spectre.
